ECON 583 History of Economic Thought

Concentrates on the development of economic thought primarily from the sixteenth century to present day. Reading and discussion of classical sources in political economy raise questions about roles of ideology, science, philosophy in the evolution of different schools of economic thought. Intended to provide opportunity for students to formulate, articulate, and justify a personal response to these questions.
