ECON 579 Cryptoeconomics and Blockchain

The growth in blockchain technology is exponential. Digital currencies are being heavily explored by central banks. The landscape of money and finance is changing due to the key influence of technology. This course explores technical aspects of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technologies, including contracts, distribution, constraints, volatility, the role of regulators and applications. Cybersecurity is an additional topic cover in this class as trust and security of blockchain systems are paramount for operations.
