ECON 571 Advanced Macroeconomics
The course analyzes the determinants of aggregate demand and supply and their interactions in an open economy. The course will examine, among others, theoretical and empirical aspects of consumption, investment, and government. Short-run and long-run income determination, monetary and fiscal policies to meet inflation and employment targets, growth theory, and their connection to the balance of payments and exchange rates as well as theory growth and institutions in a context of developing economies.
Prerequisite
Open to students in the M.A. in Applied Economics program. Other students must request permission to enroll through the Department of Economics.
