POL 346 Family and Public Policy in the Welfare State

The course analyzes different conceptions and practices of family public policy in the context of the contemporary welfare state (WF). A review of the literature on the WF is followed by a critical analysis of its anthropological presuppositions and its implications for the family. Based on the conceptions studied, correspondent proposals of family public policy are presented and evaluated with basis on concrete cases and observations.
