AI 445 Introduction to Data Mining
This course introduces fundamental concepts, techniques, and applications of data
mining for discovering patterns and knowledge from large datasets. Topics include data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, classification, clustering, association rule mining, and anomaly detection. Students will gain exposure to both theoretical
foundations and practical methods, with emphasis on real-world applications in
business, science, and engineering. The course also addresses ethical considerations, data privacy, and evaluation of data mining models. Hands-on exercises and projects provide experience using contemporary data mining tools and algorithms.
