SAS 135 Introduction to Writing for Film and Television
In this workshop, we will cover the basics of screenplay and non-fiction script formatting, film/TV language and story planning/development. We will also explore various narrative models including the three-act structure and the "hero's journey." Our practical exercises will be supplemented by conversations with working screenwriters and studying the work and style of notable contemporary screenwriters and writer-directors, including Aaron Sorkin, Spike Lee, Adam McKay and Greta Gerwig.
