MEDU 261 Human Growth & Development (birth to 8)

Introduces candidates to major concepts, principles, theories, and research related to the development of a person from the prenatal period through early adolescence. Experiences with observation and other formal and informal assessment methods to learn about children's characteristics and needs, and the multiple influences on development and learning. Encourages dispositions characteristic of professional educators including attention to physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development. This course is designed for students who wish to focus on the early childhood years.
