MEDU 251 Foundation of Education

This course introduces students to the aims, goals, and functions of schooling emphasizing the philosophical, historical, and socio-political context of U.S. education. This course emphasizes and fosters insight into the relationships between theory and practice through interaction with resource persons and observation experiences. The course covers current educational issues in a cross disciplinary context that shapes curriculum, instruction, and the challenges of schools in a changing society.
