EDUC 582 Introduction to Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Schools

Explores the nature of teaching and learning in secondary school settings and is an introduction to Curriculum and Instruction theory and design. By focusing on the decisions and dilemmas teachers face concerning curriculum, students, and their institutional context, helps prospective teachers become competent and reflective in their professional roles. Emphasizes planning and classroom management for diverse populations. Practicum Field experience (20 hours) and microteaching are integral parts of this course. Prerequisites: 525, and acceptance into the Teacher Ed. Program.
