NURS 903D Philosophy of Science in Healthcare

This course focuses on the relationship between the philosophy of science and the scientific development of practice disciplines in healthcare , most especially nursing. The application of relevant concepts and reasoning techniques is emphasized Course Goals: The goals of this course are to provide students with (a) an understanding of the way in which past, current and emerging philosophical perspectives and techniques shape scientific thought, theory development and ultimately healthcare practice (b) initial experience with the application of techniques of argument development and logical reasoning to elucidate possible dissertation research question.
