Hispanic Studies - Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
This major is offered through the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures in the School of Arts and Sciences.
Students who place out of one of the language courses (SPAN 104, SPAN 111, SPAN 203, SPAN 210, SPAN 211) will enroll in additional elective courses. No more than two electives can be taught in English.
Hispanic Studies Majors are required to spend a semester studying abroad in a Spanish-speaking country. All credits earned abroad are eligible for transfer if the student is enrolled in affiliated programs. SPAN 489 must be taken at Catholic University. Under special circumstances may students petition that the study abroad requirement be waived.
