SPAN 108 Spanish for HealthCare II

Building upon the foundation laid in SPAN 107, this course offers an intensive exploration of communication, examination, and interview techniques within practical medical scenarios. Designed to equip students with the linguistic and cultural proficiency needed to interact effectively with Spanish-speaking patients and their families in clinical settings. Through role-playing exercises, multimedia assignments, and cultural discussions, students deepen their understanding of Hispanic cultural perspectives regarding health. Tailored for nursing, psychology, biology, biomedical engineering, and social work majors, prior Spanish experience is essential. Instruction is conducted exclusively in Spanish. Advanced or native Spanish speakers are encouraged to enroll in SPAN 207. Attaining a minimum grade of B- is mandatory for progression to SPAN 207.
