SOC 318 Domestic Terrorism Investigations: An FBI Perspective

Domestic Terrorism is a top law enforcement issue in the United States for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, and for policymakers in the legislative and executive branches. This course, which helps students assess the history, infamous cases, statutes, investigative tactics, political hurdles, and foreign influence that define this threat and the government's response to it is an in-depth look at a deadly phenomenon that challenges our country as never before. Students will learn the different categories of extremism including white supremacy, militias, sovereign citizens, anarchists, anti-law enforcement, right-wing, and left-wing groups.
