PSY 225 The Psychology of Living

The Psychology of Living examines various big questions about human existence such as motivation, achievement, self-awareness, other-awareness, and valuable lessons learned from studying people who are suicidal. There will be due consideration of happiness, purpose, meaning, faith, and ultimately the question: what makes life worth living? This course is appropriate for a broad range of students across disciplines who are interested in exploring essential aspects of the human condition from a psychological perspective. This course challenges students to think about themselves and others, the role of work, love, and play in life and examining our place in the world, and what we aspire to do within a life well-lived.
