POL 475 Advanced Special Topics in Politics
Fall 2015: The goal of this course is to develop the capacity to engage critically on political issues. There will be short articles and excerpts that will be read closely in order to appreciate their substantive points and argumentative
structure, and to become familiar with fundamental ways of thinking about politics, society and the person. The emphasis will be on the preparation and presentation of reasoned arguments by students, and the ability to self-critique and critique others in a constructive fashion. Students at any level of studies should benefit from the course.
