HIST 224 Traveling in time: Germany from the Present to the Past
This course, which fulfills a Liberal Arts Core Curriculum requirement, provides a new look on the history of Germany and the Germans. Students will discover the different pasts of the German nation going back in time, from today's 'Berlin Republic' all the way to the first descriptions of 'Germania' by the Ancient Roman writer Tacitus. Students will discover the different cultures of German regions in the context of the political, economic and social history of the country and its people. Lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays with discussion sessions on Fridays.
