SSS 659A Foundations of Addiction Science II

Using a strengths-based perspective, this course is designed to provide trainees with information on the theories and concepts relevant to the prevention, treatment, and recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders. Course content covers a range of topics including causes of substance use and mental disorders, evidence-informed care, trauma-informed practice, medication for the treatment of substance use disorders, and the role of self-help systems and peer recovery professionals in treatment and recovery.
