ME 575 Transduction

This course provides a detailed look at the modeling and design of transducers for acoustics, vibrations and other engineering areas. The fundamental concepts relating to the transmission and reception of signals will be examined, including an analysis of relevant transducers utilized in the lab and experienced in everyday life. Specific topics covered include transducers for airborne sound (audio microphones and loud speakers), underwater sound (hydrophones and projectors) and vibrations (accelerometers). Open to seniors and with department consent to undergraduates who've taken ME 344
