EDUC 311 Reading and Language Arts in Early Childhood
Introduces candidates to the field of children's literature. Candidates read and become familiar with major works in each of the genres, learn the characteristics that distinguish quality children's literature, and become familiar with reference materials that are useful for selecting literature for specific purposes. Helps candidates understand the way literature and children's librarians can support the school curriculum. Prerequisite: 251, 261, 271, or permission of instructor. Acceptance into the Teacher Education Program.
