EDUC 245 Sociology of Education

This course will examine the American educational system from a sociological perspective. It will explore ways in which the system both challenges and supports societal inequality. The course will cover topics such as school funding, university admissions, and educational access for women, students of color, and individuals with disabilities. The course will contribute to the mission of the University by allowing students to discover, preserve and impart the truth in all its forms, with particular reference to the needs and opportunities of the nation.
