ANTH 204 Forensic Anthropology
This introductory course explores how archaeologists, biological anthropologists, and forensic scientists analyze and interpret human remains to estimate the age, sex, ancestry, and stature of the people they belong to, their quality of life, and their cause of death. The course covers how human remains are recovered, basic principles of skeletal biology, and the interpretation of evidence in forensic cases. Ethical issues and the role of forensic anthropology in law enforcement, disaster response, and human rights investigations will also be discussed.
