ANTH 101 Introduction to Anthropology: Cultural Competency in a Global Society
What does it mean to be human? How do human beings in different parts of today's globalized world organize their lives? Cultural anthropology is a social science that studies how people across the world understand family, language, gender, sexuality, religion, healing, and globalization. As such, it promotes a comprehensive understanding of human diversity. In addition to considering how culture shapes major areas of human experience, the course also examines how cultural anthropologists conduct research - what challenges they encounter, why they choose particular methods, and how they analyze the data they collect.
