Student Government and Professional Organizations

A number of student organizations offer opportunities for students to participate in and act as liaisons to professional organizations. This list currently includes the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS). Student representatives also serve as liaisons at faculty meetings, on school committees, and on the Student Government Association.

Advising

All students are advised by the Staff Adviser and the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Architecture and Allied Arts. The students remain with their assigned advisers for the duration of their program.

Students are highly encouraged to meet with or correspond with either the Staff Adviser or the Associate Dean at least once a semester for pre-registration for the next semester's classes. Students are also encouraged to consult their peers, their faculty, and their TAs regarding their academic program and status, career ambitions, internships, and other issues of concern. Students are responsible for knowing the requirements of their specific programs and for keeping track of their progress in working toward their degrees, all of which are available in Cardinal Station and the school website.
