SUMR 215 Law, Literature, and Pop Culture

This four week summer course would engage students in critical thinking about justice, identity, and social dynamics by analyzing texts across novels, films, TV series, graphic novels, and legal documents. The immersive format would include comparative analysis, guest lectures, and interactive assignments to deconstruct how law is represented and contested in various cultural contexts. This approach fosters skills in textual analysis and critical reading while offering a nuanced understanding of law as both a cultural and institutional practice. Additionally, prerecorded sessions would help meet instructional hours.
