MDIA 335 Strategic Communications for Crisis and Issue Management
Corporations, sports franchises, public figures, and all manner of institutions big and small will inevitably face crises. In such moments, the right response can be crucial for survival. After covering the fundamentals of strategic communications, this course focuses on crisis and issues management. Students will learn how to craft messaging for various stakeholders and for the media. Looking at case studies present and past, we will examine what approaches have succeeded, which have failed, and most importantly, what lessons they offer for effective crisis management.
