BUS 607 Habits, Virtues, & Excellence
Habits, Virtues & Excellence is a practical course that bridges classical virtue ethics with modern business success. Drawing on the work of Dr. Andrew Abela and the philosophical traditions of Aristotle and Aquinas, students learn how virtues -- understood as habits of excellence -- can be systematically developed to enhance both professional performance and personal well-being. The course combines theoretical understanding of the cardinal virtues and their allied virtues with practical methods for habit formation and character development. Through case studies, personal reflection, and hands-on exercises, students learn to apply virtue-based decision-making to real business and life challenges while developing concrete strategies for growing in excellence through intentional habit formation.
