SOC 275 Forensics
This course is designed for students who are interested in getting an introduction to using science to solve crime; specifically forensic science. The class will provide a basic overview of identification, documentation, and collection of physical evidence including fingerprints, show impressions, hair and fibers, firearms evidence, and DNA. The course will also serve as a foundation for future studies in forensics and aid students in understanding the CSI Effect and identifying what forms of evidence are truly possible for testing. The class will discuss the impact of television and other media on the field of forensic science.
