PHIL 301P Reasoning and Argumentation

An introduction to deductive logic. Topics include rhetoric, dialectic, types of definition, informal fallacies, deductive validity, syllogistic logic, and legal reasoning. Simple inductive procedures also considered. Enduring question addressed: What does it mean to know? What and how much can we know? Offered both semesters. For Tucson Program students only.
