MUS 277 From the Block to the Booth: Hip Hop's Influence on Language and Culture

This course provides a critical examination of hip-hop in the US and its role as a cultural, political and artistic resource. It will explore the artistic, historical, social, cultural, linguistic and political implications of hip-hop. It is taught from both a historical and social lens as well as from a media studies perspective.
