MDIA 202 Media and History

Introduces students to the history of media and to the stakes of historical inquiry. Explores media literacies in and across time. Considers the technological, social, economic, and perceptual conditions that make print, broadcast, and digital media meaningful. Students learn to think carefully about transitions and interactions among media and culture in the past in order better to understand the pace and character of change today. Fulfills History foundation course requirement.
