GER 402 Translation in Theory and Practice
The course provides an introduction to translation theory, but the majority of class time will be devoted to translations to and from German. Students will translate literary and non-literary texts, short film clips, advertisements and radio excerpts. Through intensive translation practice students increase their linguistic competence and they practice rhetorical, stylistic, semantic and syntactic structures of German.
