CEE 441 Construction Home Office

Examines the interrelated managerial aspects of cost and time on construction projects, i.e. cost estimating* and scheduling*. Reviews levels of detail and major CSI divisions of work. Practices work breakdown structure, quantity take-off, and pricing direct and indirect costs* of building projects with subcontractor quotations. Discusses strategies for successful bids. Introduces types of schedules: Bar chart, Critical Path Method (CPM), Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT), repetitive Short Interval Production Schedules (SIPS) and Linear Scheduling Method (LSM). Combined duration estimates and activity relationships* to derive the algorithm for calculating expected dates. Surveys various different delay analysis techniques.
