ARAB 102 Elementary Modern Standard Arabic II

The second semester of the first-year Modern Standard Arabic requires successful completion of ARAB 101, or the equivalent exposure to Modern Standard Arabic. The course continues to use videos and texts centered around topics in Al-Kitaab Part 1. Students strive to develop a stronger foundation in all four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The class will also include some exposure to the Damascene/Levantine colloquial to better understand how Arabic is used in daily life. In addition to traditional textbook exercises in Al-Kitaab Part 1, students will perform skits, write short essays and letters, participate in role plays, and undertake other interactive activities throughout the semester. Undergraduate Language courses 101-113 are subject to an Instructional Fee at the time of registration.
