PSY 601 Work: A Psychological Perspective

Work continues to be at the core of most of our lives. This course covers a number of major psychological concepts that are relevant to a work environment that constitute key aspects of industrial/organizational psychology. These include aspects of recruiting, hiring, retention, and evaluation of personnel, as well as means to achieve satisfaction, well-being, and retention for an organization, a work context, and individual workers. Motivation, teamwork, and leadership will also be addressed from a psychological perspective. Special attention will be given to the changing nature of work, the role of technology, and the implications for the workforce.
