PHIL 651 Aquinas on Law & Practical Reason
We will read the whole treatise on law (S.t. I-II 90-114), selected questions and articles in his treatise on justice (S.t. II-II, 57ff) insofar as they bear upon legal officials ¿ rulers, legislators, and judges, but also in the domain of private law concerning exchange and matrimony. Toward the end of the semester we will take a close look at his mature reflections on the commandments of God.
