NURS 630D Quality Improvement and Safety
This course provides doctoral students an overview of concepts and methodologies for improving the quality and safety of patient care delivery within health care systems and today¿s complex care environment.
Students will expand their knowledge of the key role of QI in today¿s healthcare environment as a mechanism for preventing patient harm and improving organizational effectiveness and the patient experience.
Students will review theoretical foundations for application of quality improvement tools and methods to improve process/systems, and will gain knowledge to lead quality improvement/patient safety initiatives in Healthcare systems.
Course will include content on National Patient Safety goals, Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) competencies and other regulatory and accreditation demands on health systems.
