ENGR 509 Methods in Applied Engineering Statistics

This course presumes little background in basic statistics, and builds understanding of useful and applied statistical methods from basic concepts. From an initial understanding of combinatorics, random processes, and probability distributions, more advanced statistical tools useful to engineers will be taught through lectures, demonstrations and real-world data examples. The assumptions, application, and implications of Student's t-tests, analysis of variance, linear and nonlinear regression, and other statistical methods will be covered.
