CMGT 522 Cyber Security for Engineering Managers

This course is designed to help future Engineering Managers develop their ability to keep cybersecurity risks at the forefront of their decision-making processes. Regardless of the engineering discipline, every project future engineering managers will be involved in will have a cybersecurity component. Cybersecurity risks can only be addressed when considered throughout the entire project lifecycle (i.e. cybersecurity must be built into and not bolted on to engineering projects). To ensure that their engineering management decisions or recommendations are presented in the appropriate context, the students are expected to understand and consider the foundational concepts around cybersecurity technologies, policies, and processes, as well as organizational, local, national, and global issues surrounding cybersecurity. Students will pursue cybersecurity from an engineering manager¿s perspective, but will also be expected to consider the organizational, local, national, and global issues surrounding cyber to ensure decisions or recommendations are presented in the appropriate context.
