Internships-for-Credit

  • Internships-for-credit are offered through the Busch School of Business as blended courses. Students enroll in an online course and meet in person on the internship site. Students enroll in either ACCT 495A, FIN 495A, MGT 495A/B, or MKT 495A.
  • Students must complete the internship-for-credit approval process as specified by the Office of Career Development in order to receive permission to enroll.
    • A necessary aspect of the approval process is permission by the student’s Area Director.
  • First-year students may not enroll in internships-for-credit.
  • A maximum of 3 credit-hours from internships-for-credit may be counted toward the undergraduate degree.
  • A given internship may be counted as only one course; students cannot receive credit for two courses for the same internship, even if it extends over two semesters.
  • The student must be working at the internship site during the semester (or summer session) when credit is awarded; credit for internships cannot be given retroactively.
  • Deadlines for enrollment are listed on the Academic Calendar; deadlines for enrollment are based on the length of the internship-for-credit course.
  • Internship course credits taken at another institution are not transferable to Catholic University.
  • Specific criteria must be met for a student’s internship to qualify:
    • Student has a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or above,
    • Internship provides on-site supervision as part of an established internship program,
    • Students will complete at least 150 hours.
