SSS 932 Psychological Theories Influencing Social Work Scholarship and Research
This course examines theoretical perspectives drawn from the classical and contemporary psychological and learning theories that are useful in examining various issues of concern to social workers. The purpose of this course is to familiarize the student with the strengths and weaknesses of these theories that influence scholarship and research in the social work profession. These theoretical perspectives are examined in terms of their assumptions regarding human nature, the nature of the social order, their historical roots, and their application to contemporary social issues.
