MATH 561 Numerical Analysis I

Numerical integration: the rectangle, trapezoid, and spline quadrature. Linear systems of equations; matrix notation, properties of matrices, iterative determination of eigenvalues and eigenvectors, elimination methods. Solution of nonlinear equations; real and complex roots, zeroes of polynomials. Interpolation: polynomial, Hermite, and spline interpolations. Prerequisites: 222 and 301.
