PSY 372 Science of Minds and Machines

This course explores the psychological foundations of human intelligence and the emerging field of artificial intelligence (AI). Students will examine how cognitive processes such as perception, memory, learning, problem-solving, and decision-making inform both human functioning and the design of intelligent systems. Topics include comparisons of human and machine learning, creativity, language, emotional intelligence, ethical considerations, and the impact of AI on society and identity. Through readings, discussions, and applied projects, students will critically evaluate the similarities and differences between natural and artificial forms of intelligence and consider the future of human-AI interaction.
