Specialization Options

Specialization Options

Seven specializations and 4 co-specialization sub-plan options are available within the B.S.B.A. degree.  Selecting the below hyperlinks will display the course requirements for each sub-plan.

In Addition to the core courses for the major, students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration must choose at least one specialization sub-plan and complete the specialization requirements. Students may select to complete up to three sub-plan specialization or co-specialization sub-plans. Specializations require the competition of five courses. Students may also complete a four course co-specialization in addition to their primary specialization, or complete two co-specializations (co-specializations may not be taken alone).

Double or tripe specializing:

Students may double-specialize. This requires the completion of the requirements for each specialization (or co-specialization). If the two specializations share a course, one course may double count (effectively reducing the courses needed to complete both sub-plans by one).

Students may also choose to triple-specialize. Students may double-count across any combination of the specializations (effectively reducing the courses needed to complete all sub-plans by two). For example, a student triple-specializing in International Business, Marketing, and Sales may double count MKT 362 towards both International Business and Marketing, and may double-count MKT 349 towards both Marketing and Sales.

A second specialization fulfills the Business Elective requirement.

Double counting (i.e. overlapping) courses:

Courses cannot double-count between Major requirements and Specializations requirements. The students specializing in the options below should note:

  • Technology & Operations Management and Data Analytics students must carefully select the course to fulfill the Business Analytics Elective requirement under Core Business Courses.
  • Markets and Political Economy students must carefully select a specialization elective that does not overlap with the Business Law requirement under Core Business Courses.

Please note, where specializations indicate elective courses additional electives may be approved by the specialization's Area or Program Director.
