PSY 421 Positive Psychology: Cognitive and Neural Components
Positive psychology focuses on human strengths that support thriving, flourishing, and well- being. This course explores human capacity, potential, and virtue through the lens of psychological science. Special focus is given to a cognitive framework, how thought and reason support our best selves. Key concepts for this course include creativity and curiosity, self-efficacy and self-determination, adaptive functioning and problem solving. The course also examines how our mental life is reflected in our brains and bodies to support well-being.
