PSY 346 Psychology of Thinking
The dissemination of information has accelerated at a rapid pace in recent years, leading to improved access that can support learning and thinking. However, the tools for access have also supported the spread of disinformation and misinformation - alternative facts, fake news, deep fakes. Being able to accurately assess what we hear and read has always been important for making life decisions, for living in a democracy, for thriving at work. The current environment makes such reasoning skills increasingly important to our building of a just and equitable society. By examining our own reasoning, its strengths and limitations, this course uses the underlying science to help us be better problem solvers, decision makers, and citizens.
