MGT 331 Data Strategy

This intermediate-level course explores how data analytics contributes to business strategy and competitive advantage. In this comprehensive course, you'll learn the importance of data in contemporary business and gain practical tools to turn data into insights. The course introduces students to topics such as big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and predictive modeling. Students will experiment with new analytical technologies first-hand through experiential projects and activities in order to better understand their role in supporting and augmenting human creativity and work. By the end of the course, you'll be equipped to: 1. Understand how data-driven decisions enhance business operations and revenue generation. 2. Identify critical or strategic data needs for informed decision-making. 3. Understand how new tools - Big Data, AI, ML - alter business models, value propositions, and the competitive landscape in business.
