AFRI 231B African Football: History of a Continent & its Diaspora Through Soccer

Africans and people of African descent have contributed tremendously to the development of association football (soccer). Brought by the European colonizers in the second half of the 19th century, soccer soon became a major game on the African continent and among the African diasporas all over the globe. The game's history has been closely related to the complex developments, conflicts, and successes of the history of African peoples.
