TRS 655DB Pastoral Accompaniment in Theory and Practice, Part II

Pastoral Accompaniment is the practice of forming relationships in ministry that assist people in encountering the Lord and becoming missionary disciples. Pope Francis writes "The Church will have to initiate everyone - priests, religious and laity - into this "art of accompaniment" which teaches us to remove our sandals before the sacred ground of the other." This course introduces students to the theory and practice of accompaniment through a hybrid experience in the classroom and in the field. Students will design a program of accompaniment and create a portfolio to track the design, development, implementation and assessment of a ministry of accompaniment. This course is completed over two semesters and can be substituted for TRS 652C.
