NURS 709D Nursing Research and Theoretical Foundations

This course focuses on the scientific method of problem-solving and decision making in clinical nursing practice at the micro, meso, and macro levels. Evidence from nursing and other disciplines is used to inform and improve practice. Models and theories are used to guide advanced practice nursing. Students are guided in using theoretical frameworks and research methods to identify appropriate solutions/outcomes for clinical conditions. This includes synthesizing current and emerging evidence to guide practice as well as systematically defending practice decisions based on the evidence. Utilization of ethical decision making will be applied throughout.
