A final project requires students to utilize concepts from the readings, weekly lectures, and exercises, and includes a metacognition component. Selected topics of the course include: (1) visual perception, and cognition, (2) reproducibility in research, (3) color perception and attributes of color, (4) fundamentals of data visualization, and (5) effectively presenting data and visualizations in reports. This course is designed to be relevant to students from different disciplines, and the students are encouraged to used discipline-specific datasets for their final project.
